The Carpet!
We got a remnant from a carpet place on Mass Ave in South Boston and they had it bound within a day. We went and picked it up with the Escape. It could not have been easier: we just backed the car up to their door and opened up just the glass on the tailgate. The carpet fit right in. We had to leave the glass up, but it was only a few miles back home.
We had to cut the padding ourselves, but it was very easy to measure, cut, and stich together with duct tape.
The carpet just rolled out easily. We had to cut a square out of the one corner because of the weird post thing, but it was simple, and since it butts up against the wall there, it doesn't really matter that the small section is no longer bound.
The color was just what we imagined so it was very fortunate that the carpet place had what we wanted.
